Ok, I may need to practice getting into the habit of blogging, BUT, I have some fun stuff coming up! First of all, I have a bunch of new clients as of recent, and that is fantastic and I have a question. How do the right people find me every time? I love it! It makes me love my job so much more.
So, I saw a trainer at the gym I go to currently and he does amazing things for his own workouts. I approached him, told him what I thought and asked him to train me sometime. The next week, we spoke at the gym and talked about maybe doing the following Monday. That Sunday I tried to schedule an appointment with him via a different trainer. She calls him and gives me the phone. He gives me his cell and tells me to text him right after so he has my number. I do and tell him what times work for me the next day. I hear nothing. I go to the gym the next day and let him know if I don't hear from him by 4, I will hit the weights on my own and to let me know a good day and time. I got nothing... I call the next day to make sure I have the right number, but get a generic automated message. 4 days later I get a text from him saying "Sorry, busy as always. What's the rest of your week look like?" Wow... way to make someone NOT want to spend their money on you.
So, since I retired from roller derby this past summer, I have been on the hunt to find something else that makes me feel super bad ass. I signed up for Crossfit at Windy City Crossfit. Now, this is beyond way more then I would ever pay for any kind of workout or gym. However, I have seen what it can do for people and there is a lot of stuff I will learn to do that I can't do now. I also really love the sense of comradery that seems to come with it. I know it will push me beyond my limits and keep me pushing myself.
As for skating, I miss it!! The weather will be amazing here soon... I hope, and when it is you better believe I will be getting my skate on. On nice days, nothing can keep me away, even if it's only 8 miles.

Back on track
Well, welcome to my first blog ever. I have decided to start one to help myself stay on track. I am 35 and have a goal to get back into my skinny jeans. I am about 10 pounds away. I played roller derby for 6 years and after retiring in June of 2010, realized that was my cardio and my main workouts! Even as a trainer, I found it hard after summer was over and I couldn't skate outside anymore, to make myself get to the gym and get on the cardio machines. I like to GO. Eventually, I enjoyed going and getting my sweat on, but I was drinking a lot of pinot grigio, which in no way will help me get closer to my goal. So, last week, I didn't have a drop from Sunday night until Friday night. I felt amazing and was at 110%. I let myself have wine this weekend, and I realized that I like feeling at 110% much better then feeling a little tired, or a lot tired. So, this week will again be alcohol free. Thank goodness spring is almost here and I will be tearing it up on my skates at the lakefront again all spring and summer long! Cheers to that!
